Re: Mind Over Matter
The nerves in the walls are larger and more pronounced the farther you get down the corridore. After a short walk you reach the end of the tunnel.
There you see that the pink flesh has been burned and fused together with some kind of metal to form a perfect seal between the organic walls and a large steel door that looks to be of Dwarven construction.

Re: Mind Over Matter
"Good god, they really do build everywhere! Can you see anything written in Davek on the door?" (You may not know but me having Gaint language allows me to read Davek.)

Re: Mind Over Matter
There is an engraved plaque on the door in davek runes that you can read as
J3551K4 Gnollengrom Gabilân Udirvolalåmkurel
Re: Mind Over Matter
You're lucky I can read dwarven.
It says
"J3551K4 Central Command Unit"
Hroth looks at Spartan Quizzically.

Re: Mind Over Matter
No, you don't speak Dwarvan. You can just read the writing. Dwarvan and Giant use the same alphabet (Davek) but it's a totally different language.
Like Japanese people can read Kanji but don't know Chinese or English people can read the Roman alphabet but can't understand Italian.
The door is huge and unlikely to be knocked down. It's locked by a complex mechanism but might be able to be picked using thievery.
It was built by dwarves who you know are sometimes employed by wizards to turn crazy arcane schemes into real viable things using a fusion of magic and dwarven technology.

Re: Mind Over Matter
As the door swings open a gust of fetid air escapes from the airtight room beyond. An eerie red glow lights up a room filled with mechanical devices, tubes, valves and glowing control panels

Re: Mind Over Matter
its not a beast, its a biomachine. This is must be the control room. Perception check +1 looking for important displays and perhaps a specker system.

Re: Mind Over Matter
You take a quick glance around the room and see sitting on one of the consoles a thick red book entitled
The Gargantua Tervalis Project.
Prototype J3551K4 Stage 6 User Guide.

I grab the book exclaiming "hey, a user guide" I will look up the index and try to find a speaker system

Re: Mind Over Matter
Unfortunately there is no index but the information you need might be in the first few pages.
The J3551K4 User Manual has been added to your inventory

Re: Mind Over Matter
Hrothgar, if we can take control of this machine, it maybe helpful in future missions. I need you to find something, anything that will alert the others into no cutting out its heart or damaging it in any way!

Re: Mind Over Matter
Give me that book you fool!
It says here that the Command Station controls the intercommunications network and service access hatches. It looks like it's over here...
*sits down at Command Station*

Re: Mind Over Matter
I'll try...
There doesn't seem to be any kind of...
hmm..
Here's the intercom. I'll send a message to the stomach, that's where they probably ended up.
I think that's the optical station over there. See if you can open the eyes and see anything.
