You wake up in your rooms in the Blue Moon Alehouse in beautiful sunny Fallcrest. One glance out the window tells you you have overslept as it is a few hours past dawn already and you are late for your meeting with Svegar Tryggvassen.

As you pass Spartan’s door you notice that it appears to have been kicked in and his window has been smashed open from the inside. Spartan himself is nowhere to be seen and the innkeper gives you a glare and snarls “Don’t Ask.”

Downstairs you see a short fat man and a tall muscular warrior standing in the main area of the tavern. You are just in time to see some surly adventurer types storm out the door angrily shouting “There isn’t a chance in hell you crazy fucker, Go find your guinnea pigs someplace else.

The short fat man looks embarrased and then smiles when he sees you. The warrior whispers something to him and his smile turns to a grin. “these guys look gullible enough, we can send em in first to set off all the traps and then we wont have to pay them anything when they’re dead.”

He turns to you and says, “Hello my friends it is very good to be meetink you. I am Svegar Trygvassen from winterhaven in the west.“

“Hev I got a job for you! Brave adventurers I vill give you a most satifying job yes?”
“Hev you heard of the scepter of Kazgoroth?

You know that Kazgoroth was a mad wizard who was once a famous enchanter. One day his enchantments went awry when he accidentally infused his tea with a bloodlust spell. He destroyed all of his enchanted items including the scepter and nobody knows what happened to him because anybody who has seen him since has been horrifyingly evicerated by him.

"Like many such items it hez sadly been broken however the pommal gem of the scepter iz beried within the hall of the demon lord guròdo b’orath. Do not fear despite it’s rather intimidating name I hear it can be wery pleasant down there. It is about thirty minute out of town."

When questioned about payment he replies,

"Vell I cannot pay you straight away however there used to be a cult down there and it is said they left a great treasure. Also if you return safely with the pommel you shall be greatly rewarded by my employers."

You decide that a foolish suicide mission isn't on the top of your "to do" list so you politely refuse his invitation.

the big guy gets pissed off and says “Enough! We’ve been doing this all morning who cares lets just kidnap someone to set off the damn traps!” then he throws a small purple capsule on the floor that lets loose a plume of noxious smelling gas.

You wake up in a cold dark dungeon filled with traps and monsters.


You head down a forking corridor and pick the lock of a large steel door. Beyond is a room covered in ice. When you enter jets of flame burst from the walls burning them. Once the jets of flame have been disabled by turning two switches, a large blade rizes from the center of the room slicing everything in it's path. When it is stopped the golden, jewel encrusted hilt of the blade is looted.

Meanwhile the rogue sneaks out of the room, creeps across a slippery ice slide to an area of solid ground containing a pile of gold and jewels. He pockets the loot and slides victoriously down winding up on the other side of the door the rest of the party is trying in vain to open.

The next room is a covered in webs containing corpses. When you enter the corpses come to life being controlled by the webs like hanging puppets on strings. During the battle with the spider queen and her minions, The sourcerer breaks down a stained glass door at the far end of the room, revealing an unholy cathedral beyond.

The room is adorned with ornate pillars and carved pews. The congregation is comprised of four putrid smelling creatures who’s hulking forms resembal orcs but they are horned like demons. Their jaws are dripping with what looks like blood. they appear to be enjoying a feast of some kind.

Upon the sacraficial slab you see the remains of a woman. Only the torso is left untouched as the severed limbs are being ravenously consumed by the demon orcs. Her head is nowhere to be seen. There are two exits here and here and these steps aren’t very high but they are classed as difficult terrain.

At the head of this bizzare ritual is apale hunched priest cloaked in black. His face has been horifically deformed into a twisted visage of undiluted hatred. He lifts the black chalice from the altar and pours the vile contents down his throat before turning slowley towards you. He sees you immediately and A slow maniacal grin lights up his features as he intones “INTRUDERS!!!”

The sourcerer turns his cold eyes towards the scene and the air around him begins to crackle with magical energy. He unleashes a volley of increadably powerful attacks causing the area around the leader to burst into flames as acid eats at his flesh. He cries a vain plee for mercy and attempts to stumble away before collapsing into a melting heap of burning demise.

His followers run mad at you, hungry for revenge but they are quickly dispatched by your expert blades.

After the battle Spartan catches a glimpse of a humanoid shadow that moves quickly past him and away into the dark.
